FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HTX is very transparent and understands it is important to give the client all the
facts up front so there are no surprises. Here are some common questions we are
asked, and our answers.

DO YOU HAVE REFERENCES?

YES!! We love this question. Our past clients are more than happy to offer you some insight and answer any questions you might have about their experience with HTX Estate Sales team.

HOW SOON CAN YOU START, AND HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE UNTIL YOU HOST THE SALE IN MY HOME?

We can start immediately once both parties have signed the agreement. The second part of the question “depends.” I know no one wants to hear that, but it is true. The quicker we can give you a free consultation and walk the home to view the contents, the faster it moves along. We do not rush a sale. We do not put sales together in 3 days. We need time to properly prepare your belongings to maximize the sales overall proceeds. Although WE have successfully executed a 7-day sale in the recent past, each client is different and will require a certain amount of time and personnel. Here is an example of a “fast sale,” once the agreement was signed, Marla (HTX TEAM Lead) spent 2 days taking photographs and notes within the home, then conducted most of the research out of the home. After the items were well- researched, Marla and the HTX Estate Sales TEAM spent 3 more days pricing, staging, and decorating within the home ensuring the home was complete going into the 1st day of the sale. 3 sale days followed after the home was prepared properly. This specific sale was a HUGE success for the client!

WHAT ARE YOUR COMMISSION RATES?

It varies. We have never lost a contract with a client because of our commission rates. We have not won every contract we seek, but never due to the commission rate. So, to answer your question the average commission rate we are asking for is between 40-50%. We offer to receive only 17% for big ticket items to ensure we are fair. We are not the cheapest estate sales company, but we never try to come across as if we are. We have also offered clients a scaling commission which seems more popular these days, which means the more money the sale makes, the more you get and the less we get. Our trained staff, quality equipment, professional signage, modern marketing, Gold estatesales.net membership, polite and respectful atmosphere within our clients home translates to LARGER PROCEEDS for you. This is why we don’t try and low ball the commission because WE know the value we bring and the overall value it will bring for you once the sale is complete. For traditional sales, we keep a goal of posting your online ad 2 weeks prior to the sale in efforts to lure in customers. This has worked to perfection, and we pride ourselves in maintaining approx. 15k followers each sale.

WHAT HAPPENS WITH THE ITEMS IN THE HOME THAT DOES NOT SELL?

Typically, the client asks we remove ALL items from the home, and we have a team of folks who will do this. In our agreement with the client, we typically offer to have the items removed no later than 3 days after the sale. If the client chooses for us to leave the items, we will also do so.

YES, we have encountered this before. An online sale, consignment services, or complete clean-outs may be in your horizon instead. The HTX Estate Sales TEAM is creative and thinks outside the box when challenges arise and we are eager to help and conquer those obstacles.
